Did you know?

The ancestral roots of braiding show evidence of braid patterns being created to act as a map or even hide rice to take home and feed families. They have also been known to determine tribes.

Braiding comes in many forms but the main 3 are:

Cornrows (on-scalp)

Classic Box Braids (off-scalp)

Knotless Box Braids (off-scalp)

Braids can vary in length, size and colour depending on what you’re looking to achieve.

History of braiding

A lot of you may remember being younger, sat between a loved one’s legs whilst they spent hours carefully intertwining sections of your hair. Braids have been an integral part of the black community for over 5000 years.

Braiding goes beyond aesthetics and trends. It has cultural origins that bind an entire community to one another.
